Spiritual Care & Crisis Support — Amsterdam, Netherlands & Virtual
I provide non-proselytizing spiritual and emotional care for individuals and organizations navigating crisis, grief, and significant life transitions. My practice is grounded in clinical ethics and a commitment to holding space without directing belief. I assist people in finding clarity and managing distress within the context of their own values and lived experiences.
Based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, I provide in-person support across the Randstad and virtual care for clients in the United States and worldwide.
My Approach to Spiritual Care
Chaplaincy is a professional discipline focused on presence and meaning-making rather than persuasion or doctrine. My role is to provide a steady, non-anxious presence in environments of uncertainty.
-
Non-Proselytizing: I listen to understand and support, not to convert or impose an agenda.
-
Trauma-Informed: Care is built on safety, choice, and professional respect for the individual’s history.
-
Clinically Trained: Advanced CPE training (Level III) ensures rigorous ethical boundaries and integration with interdisciplinary care teams.
-
Identity-Affirming: My practice is inclusive of LGBTQ+, religious, secular, and questioning worldviews.
Areas of Support in Spiritual Care
I offer practical and emotional accompaniment in high-stress or transition-heavy contexts, including:
-
Crisis & Acute Distress: Emotional stabilization during sudden loss or medical emergencies.
-
Grief & End-of-Life: Support for the dying and the bereaved, focusing on dignity and presence.
-
Moral Injury: Navigating ethical distress and “soul wounds” common in healthcare and high-stakes professions.
-
Disaster Response: Long-term recovery support for communities and organizations following significant events.
-
Zingeving (Meaning-making): Supporting the Dutch framework of geestelijke verzorging for those navigating existential questions.

I work across healthcare systems, community organizations, and private remote settings.

Credentials in Spiritual Care
My practice is pluralistic and does not rely on doctrine or divine intervention. My formation is rooted in Jewish and Christian traditions, providing a deep literacy in sacred texts and communal rituals, alongside a humanitarian background in global disaster response. This background allows me to bridge the gap between religious heritage and secular ethics, supporting people as they navigate meaning-making through their own lenses. [View Chaplaincy CV].

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be religious to work with a chaplain? No. I work with people of all faith backgrounds and those with none. My approach is non-directive; the focus remains on your values and your process.
Is this a form of therapy? No. While chaplaincy is therapeutic, it is a distinct discipline focused on meaning-making, ethical reflection, and spiritual/existential support. I work alongside mental health professionals and refer out when clinical psychotherapy is required.
How is confidentiality handled? I adhere to strict professional codes of ethics. All sessions are confidential, and remote platforms are selected for high security and privacy compliance.
What are your fees? I offer a sliding scale for individuals and custom contract rates for organizations. My priority is ensuring that spiritual care is accessible while maintaining a professional practice. We can discuss specific rates during our initial consultation.
